Chancroid was once an infection that affected many people but it has been controlled in most industrialized countries due to the improvement in health conditions. The infection causes ulcers in the skin that are filled with liquid that cause skin damage. The ulcers could appear anywhere on or near the reproductive organs that will bleed and easily transfer the infection to other people upon sexual intercourse.
